AP Capstone

Pasco County Schools is proud to have been named AP Large District of the Year by CollegeBoard. AP Capstone is a diploma program based on two yearlong AP courses: AP Seminar and AP Research. Rather than teaching subject-specific content, these courses develop students’ skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting. Students who complete the two-year program can earn one of two different AP Capstone awards, which are valued by colleges across the United States and around the world. Basically, if you want to solve complicated problems, think independently, and stand out on your college application, AP Capstone is for you!

AVID

AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a program and elective opportunity dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing students for college and other postsecondary opportunities. AVID teaches skills and behaviors for academic success, provides intensive support with tutorials and strong student/teacher relationships, creates a positive peer group for students, and develops a sense of hope for personal achievement gained through hard work and determination. AVID transforms students into hard working, college ready candidates who confront challenges head-on.

Blended Learning - Infinity Academy

The Infinity Academy is blended learning environments where teachers and students work together to create an educational plan tailored to each student’s needs and areas of interest. On a typical day, you will see students working individually or in pairs, small and large groups, or with teachers. In this blended learning program, students operate as a team, and work together to achieve success. Each student is a part of a house with a leadership team and mentors, so all students feel included and have access to resources like their own laptop computer to take home. Students have the freedom to work ahead and explore topics of interest. Here, success is earned, and your hard work will be rewarded.

Cambridge Programme

Pasco County Schools is proud to offer the Cambridge Programme at 10 outstanding schools. For more than 170 years, the prestigious University of Cambridge has been setting worldwide curriculum standards through their examinations. The Advanced International Certificate of Education is an innovative and accelerated method of academic study offered solely through the University of Cambridge International Examinations, a division of the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England — an institution consistently ranked as one of the top five academic universities in the world. Furthermore, AICE Diploma students can earn college credit and even a full scholarship with the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

Early College Program

Pasco County Schools is proud to partner with Pasco Hernando State College (PHSC) to offer students the Early College Program. The Early College Program is designed to allow students to earn an AA/AS degree while also earning their standard high school diploma. Students will take courses at Zephyrhills High School or Fivay High School — the designated program high schools — or through Pasco e-School or PHSC. Students will enter as a cohort and have a counselor dedicated to supporting them through the program.

Pasco County Schools is proud to offer a variety gifted services for our K-12 students. These services range from consult to our new Centers for Gifted Studies, in which gifted services are provided to students within a setting that has been designated as a gifted class. This environment is made up exclusively of gifted eligible students and facilitated by a teacher of gifted or multiple gifted endorsed teachers. New Teacher Academy

Pasco County Schools is proud to have a New Teacher Academy at River Ridge High School, Wiregrass Ranch High School, and Zephyrhills High School. Developing future teachers, while serving the community, provides a powerful platform for the next generation of teachers. Students in their second and third years identify educational issues and create solutions, in the form of creative philanthropy projects. NTA students market their projects, create logos, acquire funding, schedule appointments, purchase t-shirts, and raise community awareness, all while learning the attributes of being an excellent educator.

Pasco eSchool, the 2018 Florida Virtual School Franchise of the Year, is available to all students in grades K-12. For students in grades K-5, Pasco eSchool offers free enrollment in a full-year program that features innovative curricula rooted in the best traditions of education. Students receive instruction from highly qualified teachers who use the latest technology in online learning. Students from 6th through 12th grades may choose to enroll in flexible part- or full-time instruction. Because we believe in the success of all students, any public school, private school, charter school, or home education student located in Pasco County is eligible to apply.
