Instructional Subs
Instructional Substitute Positions include elementary, middle, and high school teaching positions.  It also includes the Instructional Assistant ESE positions.
Effective August 4, 2014, Insructional Substitute Teacher applicants must work a minimum of four (4) days a month (to include a Friday) to remain active, and possess at least a high school diploma or GED.   To receive pay for Bachelors or above, transcripts must be provided to HREQ.
 
Salary Information
Instructional Substitutes with:
High school diploma or GED - $65.00
Bachelors degree or higher - $70.00 per day
Retired teacher or valid teaching certificate - $75.00 per day- Retired Teacher Verification Form
Long-Term Instructional sub position (after the 10th day) - $85.00 per day
Retired teacher or valid teaching certificate in a Long-Term Sub Position - $95.00 per day
Rates effective as of 3/2/2015
 
Application Process
To become an Instructional Substitute, you must apply online.
Please remember to upload your transcripts for BA or above or a high school diploma to your application.   Please note that failure to submit all documents to your application will delay your onboarding process.
Once your application is complete, you will receive an invitation, via email, to sub training, which will include information about sub training registration and fingerprint appointments.
Following your one day training, you will be approved to substitute for the district.

 

Non-Instructional Substitutes
Salary Information
$8.05 per hour (effective 1/1/15)
 
Non-Instructional Substitute Positions Include Custodians, Food and Nutrition, Instructional Assistants at the elementary, middle and high school levels, and Pre-K Instructional Assistants at the elementary level.
 
To become a Non-Instructional Substitute in Pasco County Schools, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have:
  • Successfuly completed the application process
  • A touchtone telephone and email address
  • The ability to work on short notice
  • The ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of a substitute.
  • Successfully completed the District's Non-Instructional Substitute Training Program
Typical responsibilities may include:
  • Custodial
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Instructional Assistant (not to include IA-ESE)
