Open Enrollment offers you the opportunity to review your current benefit elections to ensure that they meet your needs and those of your family and elect benefits effective the new year. This year's open enrollment for benefits effective January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022 is a "positive" enrollment. This means that all employees are required to complete the enrollment process this year even if they are not making any changes or are opting out of benefits! The deadline for enrollment is October 31, 2021. If employees do not make any elections, then they will lose their current benefits and be defaulted into the employee only Basic HMO medical plan and the $35K life insurance policy. No exceptions will be made after Open Enrollment has closed.
This year is a “positive”

making changes or are opting out of benefits! The Open Enrollment process is
done in Employee Self-Service (ESS). If employees do not make any benefit
elections they will be defaulted into the free Basic HMO medical plan and the
free $35K life insurance policy for employee only. Benefit elections cannot be
made after Open Enrollment closes, no exceptions. Print
a copy of your current benefit confirmation statement for your file and future
reference if needed.

No benefits roll over into 2022. You must complete the entire enrollment process and click the submit button. You must print a copy of your benefit confirmation statement as confirmation of your 2022 benefit elections.
Make new elections for medical or dependent care FSA, or choose no changes.
If you currently do not have an Allstate Term to 100 Life policy and wish to elect a policy for the 2022 plan year, you must seek the assistance of a Sunbelt Enrollment Counselor by contacting Sunbelt at 1-800-822-8045. New or changes to the Allstate Cancer plan are not guaranteed issue.
You must complete the entire enrollment process and print/save a copy of your 2022 benefit confirmation statement for your records. You will be asked to provide a copy of your benefit confirmation statement should a question arise about your benefits enrollment.
Open enrollment happens on an annual basis. This year’s open enrollment is October 1, 2021 - October 31, 2021 for benefits effective January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022.
You will be defaulted to the free HMO Basic medical plan and the free Basic Life policy for employee only, if you do not complete the enrollment process and submit your elections.
To change your current benefit elections or enroll for the first time in the medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, dependent life, personal accident, cancer, hospital indemnity, legal, disability or flexible spending account, you must access Employee Self Service at https://mss.pasco.k12.fl.us/ess/ ( link also available on the District’s homepage) from any computer beginning October 1, 2021 through October 31, 2021. If you leave the enrollment system before submitting your elections, your choices will not be saved.
Once you have completed your changes, it is important that you print/save the confirmation statement for your records. Changes you request during open enrollment will take effect January 1, 2022. The plan year begins on January 1 and continues through December 31. Benefit elections made during Open Enrollment are generally binding for the entire plan year. You may not make any changes until next year’s Open Enrollment period unless you have experienced a
qualifying change in status event (e.g., marriage, birth, adoption, etc.), and notify Employee Benefits of such a change within 30 days from the date of the qualifying event.
Newly hired employees who become eligible for benefits during the months of October, November, and December must enroll twice: one time for 2021, and again for Open Enrollment for 2022.
