Florida uses computer adaptive tests (CATs) to tailor assessments to each student’s ability level. In these tests, the difficulty of questions changes based on how a student responds. Correct answers lead to slightly harder questions, while incorrect answers lead to easier ones. This approach provides a more accurate measure of what a student knows and creates a personalized testing experience. It also gives teachers detailed information to better support learning.
