School Improvement and Accountability
Testing Opportunities for Home Education Students (Grades 3-12)

Students enrolled in Home Education in grades 3-12 who are current residents of Pasco County may sit for the following standardized assessments at their zoned schools:

  • PSAT/NMSQT - Fall administration

  • SAT - Spring administration

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Exams - Spring administration

  • Florida Alternate Assessment (Performance Task only) - Spring administration

  • BEST Writing, FAST, Statewide Science, and End of Course (EOC) assessments - Spring administration

PSAT/NMSQT 

  • Eligible Grades: 9-12 

  • Purpose: Standardized test that provides practice for the SAT, used for entry into the National Merit Scholarship (11th grade) or can be used as a concordant score to meet graduation requirements.

  • PSAT/NMSQT Testing Window:  October 1-October 31, 2026*

  • Fee:  $18.00 (non-refundable)

  • Register by the deadline to participate in Fall PSAT/NMSQT testing.

    • PSAT/NMSQT Testing Registration Link – Deadline to register is Friday, September 18, 2026

SAT 

  • Eligible Grade:  11 

  • Purpose: Measures literacy, numeracy, and writing skills.  May be used to fulfill the Grade 10 ELA or Algebra 1 EOC graduation requirements. 

  • SAT Testing Window:  March 1-March 31*

  • Fee: Contact your zoned school after registration approval for the non-refundable fee.

  • Register by the deadline to participate in SAT testing in the Spring of 2027.

    • SAT Registration Link - Deadline to register is Friday, February 5, 2027

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) EXAMS

  • Eligible Grades:  9-12 

  • Purpose: Measures mastery of specific AP course content and skills.  

  • AP Testing Window:  May 3-May 14, 2027* 

  • Register by the deadline to participate in Advanced Placement (AP) testing in the Spring of 2027.

    • Advanced Placement (AP) Registration Link - Deadline to register is Friday, November 6, 2026

  • Once the registration has been processed, families should contact the assigned testing site for information regarding the non-refundable fee.

FLORIDA ALTERNATE ASSESSMENT (Performance Task only)

  • Eligible Grades:  3-12 

  • Purpose: To meet the annual educational evaluation requirement for students who are on alternate achievement academic standards.  The general statedwide assessment program is not appropriate for these students, even with accommodations.

  • Spring State Testing Windows: March 1-April 16, 2027* (Grades 3-8) and March 8-April 23, 2027* (Grades 9-12)

  • Fee: None

  • Registration Link 

BEST WRITING, FAST, STATEWIDE SCIENCE, AND EOC SPRING STATE TESTING

  • Eligible Grades:  3-12 

  • Purpose: To meet the annual educational evaluation requirement.  May be used to fulfill the Grade 10 ELA or Algebra 1 EOC graduation requirements. 

  • Spring State Testing Windows: 

    • BEST Writing: March 29-April 9, 2027* 

    • FAST PM3 ELA (Grades 3–10) & Math (Grades 3–8): May 3-May 28, 2027*

    • End-of-Course Exams (Algebra, Biology, Civics, Geometry, U.S. History): May 3-May 28, 2027*

    • Statewide Science Assessments (Grades 5 & 8): May 3-May 28, 2027*

  • Fee: None

  • Registration Link - Window is January 4-February 12, 2027

*Each school determines when they will test within these windows.
