FALL, 2023 STATE TESTING
Students who are registered with the Home Education Office in Pasco County and wish to take a test for the first time or re-take a test are welcome to participate in state testing. A listing of the assessment windows and available assessments can be found by clicking below. Please note that a school may test anytime within these windows and will determine when a Home Education student can come in to sit for the test.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
To participate in state testing, the student must meet TWO requirements. First, the student must be registered as a Home Education student in Pasco County AND the student must register for state testing by the deadline. Students who do not meet both of these requirements will not be permitted to sit for the test. Information outlining these requirements Is below:
Requirement #1 - Registering as a Home Education Student

Requirement #2 - Registering for State Testing
To register a Home Education student for state testing, the online testing registration form must be completed by the stated deadline. If the student does not register by the deadline, he/she must wait until the next window to test. While registering, if the student indicates that he/she requires ESE/ELL accommodations, a secure link will be sent for the student to upload a valid IEP/504/ELL plan documenting the need for the accommodations. This must be done at least two weeks before the testing date for the materials can be ordered.

Once the student is registered for state testing, their Home Education status in Pasco County will be verified and an email will be sent to the parent confirming registration and direction will be given to contact the student's zoned school to for testing dates and times.
PREPARING FOR TESTING
All state tests are offered in a computer-based format unless the student has a valid IEP/504 plan stating that the student must take a paper-based assessment. To prepare for online testing, students are required to complete an online practice test. This will allow the student to become familiar with the layout and item types of the assessments. The tests can be accessed by clicking HERE.
DAY OF TESTING
Students should arrive 15 minutes prior to the previously arranged testing time. As visitors on campus and to verify the student’s identity for testing, all students and parents must bring photo-identification. Parents should have a government issued ID and a student may have a school issued picture ID or other government issued ID. No other forms of picture ID will be accepted. If the student has an ELL plan which allows the child to use a heritage dictionary, the student is responsible for bringing their own heritage dictionary. Students are required to provide their own transportation to and from the testing site. If the student shows up at a school without completing both requirements of the registration process or without a testing appointment, the student will not be tested.
AFTER TESTING
Students and parents will be able to access their child’s test results through the state’s family portal. Depending on the test, the results may be available within 24 hours or later. An access code will be sent to the parent and student in the testing registration letter.
