Graduation Requirements for FL Statewide Assessments

Students must pass the following statewide assessments:

  • Grade 10 English Language Arts (ELA) or a concordant score
  • Algebra 1 end-of-course (EOC) or a comparative score

Refer to Graduation Requirements for Florida’s Statewide Assessments for concordant and comparative scores. In accordance with s. 1008.22, F.S., even if a student has an acceptable concordant or comparative scores, all students are still required to participate in the grade 10 ELA assessment and Algebra 1 EOC assessment.

Students enrolled in the following courses must participate in the corresponding EOC assessment, which constitutes 30 percent of their final course grade:

  • Algebra 1
  • Biology
  • Geometry
  • U.S. History

Students enrolled in the U.S. Government course, including dual enrollment and AP classes, are required to take the assessment of civic literacy. This score does not impact the student’s course grade nor graduation status. However, students earning a passing score on the assessment are exempt from the postsecondary civic literacy assessment.
