Pasco County Schools Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)

To get started, choose the academic school year you wish to attend, and follow steps 1 to 3.

2023-2024 School Year

Child must be 4 years old by 9/1/2023

Step 1: Create a family portal and apply for the VPK Certificate of Eligibility (COE) at the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco & Hernando.

Step 2: Download the PDF of your COE from your family portal at the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco & Hernando. (Please allow sufficient processing time.)

  • If you choose a private VPK provider, apply directly with them. If you choose one of our Pasco County Schools VPK locations, go to step 3.

Step 3: Apply or add your name to a waitlist for VPK for the 2023-2024 school year at one of our remaining available Pasco County schools. (The application is currently closed, and will re-open at 8am on Monday, March 18, 2024).

2024-2025 School Year

Child must be 4 years old by 9/1/2024

Step 1: Create a family portal and apply for the VPK Certificate of Eligibility (COE) at the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco & Hernando.

Step 2: *Download the PDF of your COE from your family portal at the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco & Hernando. (Please allow sufficient processing time.)

*Please do not download the PDF of your COE application. Wait to complete our application until your COE is available in the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco & Hernando family portal. Email questions to pascovpk@pasco.k12.fl.us.

Step 3: **Apply for a Pasco County VPK school for the 2024-2025 school year. The first application window has already passed. The Notification and Acceptance Window is March 4, 2024 to March 13, 2024 at 4:30pm. The second application window will open at 8:00am on Monday, March 18, 2024. The only schools that will be listed as options on the application will be schools that still have space available.

**Space is very limited at our VPK schools, and enrollment is not guaranteed. Applications are processed in the order they are received. Hardship applications will not be considered for VPK.

Summer VPK 2024

 Child must be 5 years old by 9/1/2024 

The Summer VPK program provides instruction to age eligible Pasco County children who did not participate in a 540 hours school year VPK or Head Start program and who will be going into kindergarten in the fall of 2024.

The elementary school(s) hosting Summer VPK will not be decided until March or April of 2024. More information will be posted here when available.
