Paul R. Smith K-8
With the School Board voting to close Gulfside Elementary School beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, and combining the two schools, Gulfside Elementary and Paul R. Smith Middle into Paul R. Smith K-8, it becomes necessary to rezone the current boundaries of these two schools to Paul R. Smith K-8.
District staff will hold a public workshop focused on the closure of Gulfside Elementary and Paul R. Smith Middle Schools and the reopening of these two (2) schools as Paul R. Smith K-8 scheduled for October 20, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM in the gym at Paul R. Smith Middle School. The proposed boundary map will be displayed and staff will be available to answer questions. Also, a public hearing is scheduled during the November 4, 2025 School Board meeting at 9:30 a.m. at the district office complex in Land O’ Lakes.
The final School Board vote on the boundary proposal is scheduled to be held during the November 18, 2025 School Board meeting, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the district office complex in Land O’ Lakes.
The boundaries will be effective beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
Attendance Zone Boundary Adjustments for Future Development
In addition to the above, there are proposed boundary adjustments to provide for future development. These boundary adjustments do not affect ANY current students. The attendance zone boundaries of New River Elementary School, Watergrass Elementary School, Centennial Middle School, Raymond B. Stewart Middle School, Thomas E. Weightman Middle School, Wesley Chapel High School and Zephyrhills High School are impacted by these proposals (again, current students in these schools are not impacted).
