Preparing New Principals Program

Process to become an Approved Principal Candidate

Applicants must be approved as candidates in Pasco County Schools to be considered for principal vacancies. 

 

Internal Candidate - Required documentation: 

An internal candidate must demonstrate at least three years of successful experience as an assistant principal (and currently be in this role), hold Educational Leadership on their Florida certificate and complete the PNPP application process listed below. A candidate who applies and is accepted to this program will become eligible to apply for principal positions (unless otherwise determined by superintendent staff) upon entry into the program. Successful completion of the yearlong PNPP program will complete the certification process. 

 

Application Window for 2023-24 PNPP Program is March 1 to March 10, 2023

All required documentation must be submitted before the job ad closes to be considered during the application window.

 

1. Complete a general instructional application in Talent Ed (if you do not currently have one in the system) and upload the following items to the employee applicant system:

  • Current resume including recent, relevant experiences
  • Three letters of reference, one from each of the following: current principal/ supervisor, current staff member you supervise/ evaluate, colleague with a similar position

2. Create a digital presentation that exemplifies/ demonstrates your core beliefs and skills as a school leader (be prepared to present this during the face to face interview) 

3. Complete written leadership experiences (see additional information on application posted on OLL website) 

4. Submit PNPP application, written leadership experiences and digital presentation to Vaughnette Chandler at vchandle@pasco.k12.fl.us by  March 10, 2023.

 

After the initial application review, selected applicants will be scheduled for face-to-face interview to present and complete a written simulation (approx. 3 hrs.).  Interviews will be scheduled during the day on April 3, 4, 6.  2023.
