Taking A Stance: A Message from Pasco County Schools

The District School Board of Pasco County believes that a safe, secure, nurturing and civil environment is essential in accomplishing its mission to create a community which works together so all Pasco County students will reach their highest potential. As a district, we promote mutual respect, civility and orderly conduct among all district employees, students, parents and the general public.

These beliefs are not intended to deprive any person of his/her right to freedom of expression. Rather, it is intended to uphold, a safe, harassment-free workplace for students, families, and staff that is free of disruptive, demeaning, intimidating, threatening, or aggressive behaviors.

As we strive to elevate our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion we commit to listening, growing and learning. The battle for equality is not a Black problem. The death of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others, is an American problem.

Talking about race can be difficult to navigate with adults and children alike. The following resources were compiled by the Office of Leading and Learning to assist our Pasco County families in cultivating belonging, access, and engagement with a focus on black, brown, indigenous, and multi-racial students during this challenging time.
