FIRE CODE COMPLIANCE

AUTHORITY

The inspection procedures are mandated by Florida State Statute1013.12(1)(2)(a), Florida Administrative Codes 69A-58, and NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Codes and NFPA 101 Life Safety Codes.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this annual fire safety inspection process is to ensure the safety of all occupants in our facilities. In conjunction with the annual fire safety inspection, a sanitation and casualty inspection must be performed.

POLICY

Pasco County Schools employs state certified fire inspectors per Florida State Statute 633. These inspectors perform the following task; conduct fire plan reviews for new construction and fire safety inspection of new construction, existing schools, ancillary plants, and auxiliary facilities and relocatables to ensure the safety of occupants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To inspect all educational facilities located on school property and charter schools. Submit inspection reports to Pasco County Schools and forward the approved copies of the inspection reports to the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office by June 30th of each year with a plan of action to correct all deficiencies.

It is the mission of the District Safety Inspectors of Pasco County Schools to create the safest public school environment in the State of Florida.
