Our mission is to provide expertise and leadership for supporting the academic, social, physical and behavioral development of all students within an integrated multi-tiered system of support that meets the needs of a full range of learners.
Student Support Programs and Services (SSPS) is committed to ensuring every student has access to the resources, services, and support needed to achieve academic, social, physical and behavior success. Through a collaborative network of specialists, educators, counselors, psychologists, social workers, health professionals, and program administrators, SSPS provides leadership and support for Exceptional Student Education (ESE), Section 504 services, mental health initiatives, school counseling, ESOL programs, student wellness, family engagement, and specialized intervention services. Our department works alongside schools, families, and community partners to promote compliance, and positive outcomes for all students, empowering them to reach their full potential in a safe and supportive learning environment.
Pasco County Schools serves more than 15,000 students with disabilities and is committed to providing a free and appropriate public education in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Through a continuum of specialized programs and services, students ages 3 through 22 receive individualized support designed to meet their unique needs. Services may be delivered in a variety of educational settings, including general education classrooms, inclusion and resource programs, specialized instructional environments, community-based settings, and hospital/homebound services. Eligible students receive supports and related services through their Individual Education Plan (IEP), ensuring access to meaningful educational opportunities that promote growth, independence, and success in school and beyond.
