The mission of the Academy of Health and Human Services at Ridgewood High School and Marchman Technical Education Center is to prepare students with broad, transferable skills, knowledge, and behaviors that lead to initial employment or to post-secondary training in the health occupations field. Participating students receive industry certifications, and participate in clinical training opportunities. Upon program completion, students can pursue employment opportunities or a post-secondary education.
This CTE program is a planned sequence of courses consisting of:

Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)
The Nursing Assistance test measures an individual's knowledge of the core skills required of nursing assistants. Designed for all health care support professionals, this test covers the following topics: Basic Emergency Care, Basic Human Needs and Communication, Body Systems, Body Systems Disorders, Infection and Infection Control, Mental Health, Nutrition, Patient Care and Comfort, Role and Responsibility, and Vital Signs.
Career Academies… The Right Choice
Allied health professionals who work primarily in ambulatory settings (clinics and medical offices) under the supervision of physicians. CMAs are capable of doing both clinical and administrative procedures, and are educated and tested in such procedures.
Career Academies prepare students to meet the demands of a changing workforce while providing the opportunity for successful high school graduation, gainful employment, post secondary education, and industry recognized certification.
