Our Vision

The Communications and Community Engagement Department vision is to develop and implement an effective communication system that will inform and engage internal and external communities.

Department Services

Media Relations

The Communications and Community Engagement staff offers story ideas to the media and responds to media requests. Staff members are available to help with:

  • Writing press releases
  • Press conferences, news briefings, and special events
  • Pitching story ideas to print and broadcast media
  • Crisis communications
  • Supporting school and district staff with media interviews
  • School to home communication

Crisis Communications

Communications and Community Engagement staff provides principals and site administrators with guidance during crisis situations. Staff will help write parent letters or automated phone message scripts alerting parents of situations that have occurred at a school, and provides advice about how widely to disseminate such messages and letters, as well as the appropriate timing for sending out calls.  Staff also will serve as media liaison during a school crisis, so principals and school staff can continue focusing on the crisis and student safety.

Brand Standards and Graphic Design Supports

The Communications and Community Engagement Department designs district assets that require precise District branding and provides guidance and resources to support consistent, professional visual communications across all schools and departments. The department establishes District brand standards and offers consultation for projects that may benefit from additional support or alignment with District visual identity.

Routine materials should be created at the school or department level. For guidance or assistance with projects that involve complex layouts, require clarification on branding or design standards, or support districtwide or larger efforts, please submit a request through the Communications and Community Engagement app on your myPascoConnect dashboard or via this link.

Marketing

The Communications and Community Engagement Department provides marketing consulting and expert marketing services to the district’s 80+ schools and myriad departments. The marketing specialist develops creative marketing campaigns that include traditional and digital marketing elements in order to reach targets through all appropriate channels—social media, TV, email, print, and more.

Photography and Videography

The department has two photographers who cover school and district events, and post their photographs to our district's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Flickr pages. The photographers also produce videos, which are uploaded to the district’s YouTube page, for schools and district offices.

Web Site and Social Media

The Communications and Community Engagement Department designs and maintains the district Web site, and assists schools and other departments with design and maintenance of their sites. The department also maintains the district’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
