Winter Storm School Closure Day Update

This message is to provide further information to employees regarding the District’s closure on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, due to the local impacts of Winter Storm Finn. All regular active employees will be paid their normal daily rate for the closure day. Employees who had temporary or short-term leave scheduled on this date will have that leave cancelled out. Regular employees who were on extended/long-term leave will be left on their scheduled leave.

Employees should not make any entries into their Time Clock Plus (TCP) timesheets or attempt to punch in or out of the TCP system to document their normal work hours for Tuesday, January 9, 2024. District staff has already imported each employee’s regularly scheduled work hours into TCP for Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

The District is still in the process of evaluating the lost instructional time associated with this closure, however the District’s initial analysis suggests that no additional make-up time will need to be scheduled for most of our schools. Some schools may have to make slight modifications to their daily schedules to ensure they provide the statutorily required student contact minutes for the school year, but these adjustments should be minimal and should generally not impact the length of the student school day or staff workday.
