Pasco’s Next Farm Fresh Pop-Up is Tomorrow

This post was created on 05/07/2020.

Land O’ Lakes, FL – (May 7, 2020) – Our next Farm Fresh Pop-Up is tomorrow!

On Friday, May 8, we will be handing out 10-pound variety boxes of vegetables. Each box will include some combination of cucumbers, potatoes, radishes, collards, broccoli, peppers, squash, and eggplant.

We’ll start at 10 a.m. and continue until the variety boxes run out. A drive-thru loop will be arranged at the district office at 7227 Land O’Lakes Boulevard. The loop will be along Gator Lane at the district office complex.

School officials will practice safe social distancing and wear masks. We ask that members of the public remain in their vehicles, and pop their trunk when they arrive, so we can place the variety box in the trunk. The first Pop-Up on Wednesday was a tremendous success, as the district gave away more than 30,000 ears of corn in approximately two hours.

Here’s how our Farm Fresh Pop-Up works. The school district is working with local farmers, and when we get in a shipment of donated fruit or vegetables we determine where and when we will distribute it – usually the next day, since the goal is to get it out to the public as quickly as possible. Many thanks to Feeding Florida and L&M for the generous donation of the variety boxes.

We will announce our next Farm Fresh Pop-Up as soon as we can secure some more fresh fruits or vegetables to share with our community.
