The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) recognizes August as Child Safety Awareness Month and is reminding motorists to focus on child safety on Florida roads. With school starting throughout Florida, this is a great time to remind everyone to observe school zone speed limits, practice patience as there are more vehicles on the roads, and follow traffic laws that require traffic to stop when the school bus lights are flashing and the red stop arm is out. Throughout Pasco County, thousands of students will be taking to their neighborhood streets walking to their bus stop or school. The DHSMV has great resources to help keep everyone safe in cars and on the roads.
