JOB GOAL

Responsible for assisting with the coordination, supervision and management of before and/or after school K-12 enrichment program(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Facilitate and support activities for K-12 enrichment programs, including planning and production of activities, identifying resources for site staff and implementing designated curriculum.
  2. Assist with development and planning for appropriate enrichment activities for students per curriculum guidelines.
  3. Maintain site compliance with federal, state and local licensing standards and School Board policies and procedures.
  4. Prepare and maintain accurate records, including attendance for students, student enrollment packets, materials for student files, inventory for program, purchasing for program and other related tasks.
  5. Assist in the selection of equipment, enrichment materials, books, and appropriate supplementary supplies.
  6. Administer fee collections process for enrichment programs to reconcile payments, register parents, and enter computerized billing information.
  7. Perform bookkeeping activities as they relate to managing the fee collection process, field trip planning, and calculating cost per student for various outings.
  8. Prepare, review, approve and submit information as required on student attendance, staffing issues, program budget, program planning, employee vacancies, student vacancies, and fee collection.
  9. Maintain records for minor accident log, accident reports, medication logs, and distribution of medication.
  10. Establish and maintain a safe environment for students and provide supervision.
  11. Serve as a back-up for site management.
  12. Train and delegate work to appropriate staff and assist with supervision of staff.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience modeling appropriate strategies for interactions with students and staff.
  • Knowledge of child development and care for K-12 students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes.
  • Knowledge of and experience with personal computers and programs, such as word processing programs, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Must meet physical requirements of Post Offer Employment Testing (POET).

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of experience working with K-12 students.
  • Satisfactory completion of American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course within 30 days of hire.

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of administrative experience with K-12 enrichment programs consisting of providing staff direction, task
  • assignment, parent interfacing, district personnel interfacing and managing all business aspects of enrichment
  • programs.
  • Experience in a supervisory position managing staff, coaching, and training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Assist with supervision of assigned support personnel. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints; resolving problems and training employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as light work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk and hear; stand and walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

  • General office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
