Leading and Learning
PD Offerings- Elementary Teachers

Beginning in January we launched asynchronous and synchronous learning related to Florida’s B.E.S.T standards. The focus of the sessions will be to:

  • Build knowledge of the B.E.S,T standards in conjunction to the Common Vision of Instructional Excellence by unpacking the standards, diving deep into the standards spiral, the 6-12 Foundational Reading Intervention Standards, and K-12 Expectations while connecting the learning to what matters most.

  • Build knowledge, supports, and connections regarding leading and learning in Literacy, diving deeper into where the standards really live in the text and utilizing standards to create quality, grade-aligned tasks and questions with a focus on identity, skills, building knowledge, and social contexts.

  • Make connections of the learning and application since January then reflecting on what practices of the Common Vision of Instructional Excellence you will continue or focus on for the 21-22 school year.

Human Growth and Development Message from the Health Team
Based on the feedback received last year the Health team in coordination with elementary science teachers have revised the 19-20 HGD curriculum for the 20-21 school year. As you know, HGD was not taught during the 19-20 school year so we are looking forward to ensuring students receive this important curriculum this school year. The learning network has been updated with the revised lessons and is available for teachers to review. A student facing Canvas course will be developed by the end of 3rd quarter for use in your classroom as well as virtually. Below is an overview of the teacher support available ahead of 4th quarter implementation. Additionally, click here for a PowerPoint that overviews the changes for 20-21.
