The mission of the Academy of Engineering at River Ridge High School is to prepare students for employment or continuation of their education in a college or university in the field of engineering technology. The engineering academy utilizes the nationally recognized Project Lead The Way (PLTW - http://www.pltw.org) high school engineering curriculum. The engineering academy engages students in a four-year sequence of courses that introduce students to the scope, rigor and field of engineering. Students explore various engineering technology systems and learn how engineers use math, science and technology in processes and solutions that benefit people. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible for Gold Seal/Bright Futures scholarships.

Civil Engineering and Architecture OR
Aerospace Engineering OR
Engineering Design and Development
Industry Recognized Certifications
Engineering Core certification
The engineering Core Certification represents acknowledgement by industry of the core or foundational engineering skills and knowledge achieved by secondary students enrolled in Project lead the Way's (PLTW) Pathways to Engineering (PTE) curriculum. To earn the certification, students must pass the end-of-course assessments for any three PTE courses with a minimum score of eighty (80) percent.
