FUTURE PLANS:

Based on the Family Feedback Survey and recent Communication Focus Group, STANDARDIZED COMMUNICATION emerged as the highest‑priority topic. The Communications Department plans to further examine this feedback alongside best practices to strengthen district and school‑based communication.

This work will inform the development of an INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS PLAYBOOK designed to provide clear, centralized guidance for staff. Anticipated topics include:

  • Communication tools
  • Timing and methods for family outreach, where key updates are housed
  • Expectations for consistency across schools
  • Shared practices for engaging families

This effort will involve collaboration across multiple departments and a thorough review process, with the goal of having aligned expectations in place for the upcoming school year.

TRANSPARENCY:

The district will continue to provide schools with the autonomy needed to communicate effectively with their unique family communities.

Our communication decisions remain guided by student safety, confidentiality, and research‑based best practices, which requires balancing what individuals may want to know with what is appropriate, legal and feasible to share in each situation.

COMMITMENT:

The Communications Department values family feedback as an essential part of improving clarity, trust, and engagement. We remain committed to listening, strengthening our practices, and ensuring families feel informed and connected to the district’s work.
