Matt Hayes began his career in education in 2010 as a science teacher at Fivay High School, where he also served as a baseball coach. His passion for teaching and mentoring students was evident early on, both in the classroom and on the field. In 2015, Matt returned to his roots at Zephyrhills High School, his alma mater, to continue teaching science and building strong connections with students and staff.
In 2018, Matt transitioned into school leadership as an Assistant Principal at Zephyrhills High, where he focused on fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. His leadership journey continued in 2023 when he joined Wesley Chapel High School as an Assistant Principal, bringing over a decade of experience and a deep commitment to student success.
Matt is inspired by the opportunity to be a positive light for students and a role model who encourages growth, resilience, and achievement. He believes that every student deserves someone who believes in them and works tirelessly to create opportunities for success. His dedication to shaping a culture of respect and excellence drives his work every day.
