Scholarship:
I have dedicated my best efforts towards academic rigor these past four years and have taken 16 AP courses and 12 Dual Enrollment courses. With this, I have been able to maintain my position as ninth in our graduating class as well as a 4.6 GPA. I have been extremely blessed to be taught by such inspiring and passionate teachers in all my courses, I credit much of my success to their support.
Leadership:
Leadership and campus participation have always been a great passion. I’ve served as advertiser for Student Council and Hawkeye for four years. As a Key Club member, attending DCON, deepened my passion for service and collaboration. I;m a four-year member of Mu Alpha Theta, helped found the English Honors Society, and am a part of National Honor Society. Sports also shaped me, earning freshman-year softball MVP and managing Boys Basketball social media and statistics.
Service:
Completing over 440 service hours in the past four years has taught me that the most meaningful service is voluntary, not required. Volunteering for school has provided me countless opportunities, however, I find most impact and fulfillment in simple deeds like decorating our bathroom mirrors with affirmations, bringing flowers and cards to hospital patients, celebrating bingo wins with the elderly, teaching kids to play the piano and making care packages for those in need.
Citizenship:
I believe good character is found in how we spend our time. I lead each day with a goal to brighten others’ days. I start each week with Sunday Church, spending time with the people I love. Throughout the week, I greet every customer, teacher and friend with a smile, making sure everyone is included in activities, help friends struggling in class, and go out of my way to let people know they’re appreciated.
