Land O' Lakes High School
I’ve always worked hard to earn top grades and truly understand what I learn. I like seeing how ideas connect and apply beyond the classroom. I take classes that interest me and I also push myself into new areas that stretch my thinking. To me, learning is about finding actual meaning in what I study. Scholarship is also about turning in a quality product and collaborating with others to obtain a variety of perspectives.
Serving as President of four organizations–NHS, Science NHS, Spanish NHS, and Science Olympiad–has taught me that leadership is about people, not position. I work to bring out the best in others by encouraging involvement, building trust within officer teams, and collaborating closely with sponsors and other clubs. By tapping into the strengths of others and fostering leadership with team members, I strengthen not just our clubs but the larger school community we represent.
Service has always been an important part of my identity. As a Moffitt Cancer Center volunteer, I supported patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and learned the value of compassion. Through NHS, I’ve led drives and encouraged members to volunteer at Miles for Moffitt. I also served as a Teen Court volunteer, helped design a mural through Spanish NHS, led orientation tours and launched a science tutoring initiative to strengthen students’ understanding of concepts.
Citizenship means being an active and productive member of our school community. I strive to support and connect different student groups through active participation in school events and extracurriculars - academic, athletic, and the arts. I encourage my teammates and fellow club members to also serve and support others. I value Land O’ Lakes High School deeply and take pride in helping build a welcoming, unified, and spirited community.
