River Ridge High School

Scholarship:

I have been a dedicated scholar since middle school, maintaining a 4.46 GPA and ranking 6th in my class of more than 400. I have taken five AP classes and am on track to graduate with my AA all while participating in and running several extracurricular clubs and activities. Now with my ACT scores, I will receive the full Bright Futures scholarship to the Florida college I choose to attend.

Leadership:

I have strived to become a leader in my school, working tirelessly throughout my high school career in student council and the marching band program to show my fullest potential. I have worked my way up in positions and have become the presidents of both extracurriculars. As the Executive Board President, I work among the class presidents to plan events for the school and community, as well as create advertisements through the New Media Academy to promote these events. As the Royal Sound Marching Band President and percussion captain, I lead rehearsals for my section, and entire band, to progress our halftime show. In the spring season, I lead an indoor percussion ensemble and competed statewide in the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC).

Service:

Through the student council I have organized and volunteered with activities such as Special Olympics, Winter Wonderland, and Trick-or-Treat Around the Track. These community-based events require hours of planning but are enjoyed by members of our community. With the marching band, I march in parades, raise money during charity nights, and play at events. To raise money for the program, I helped build, operate, and act in a haunted house over the weekends in October. Also being the Secretary of the National Honor Society, I tutor middle schoolers and participate in events giving back to my community. With the New Media Academy, I attend events at the school throughout the year to film and edit highlights about them that are then aired on the news and posted on social media.

Citizenship:

I exhibit citizenship by planning events to make school more enjoyable for students. I dedicate months to planning Homecoming Week and the dance that all students can look forward to. As an aspiring journalist, I work hard creating content and providing information for students, faculty, and staff to ensure a wonderful experience at River Ridge.
