Angel Martin-Meza

Gulf High School

Scholarship:

I maintain a 3.9 GPA while taking almost every AP class offered at my school. I am part of the first 5000 students worldwide to be selected to take Introduction to Quantum Computing from IBM Quantum--taught by various MIT PHD students. I am currently taking the technology CTE program from Pasco eSchool: Foundations of Programming, Procedural Programming, and Cybersecurity Fundamentals.

Leadership:

I was the first junior in Pasco County to be selected as Cadet Commanding Officer of an NJROTC unit (typically for seniors). Leading 163 cadets, I have learned responsibility and accountability. I am the team captain of the Cross Country and Track and Field teams of Gulf High School. I am the SGA Senior class president of Gulf, and the head pianist of my church band.

Service:

I have logged over 300 hours of community service volunteering at: Gulf High School, The American Legion, and the Special Olympics. I donate over six hours of my time each week giving free piano lessons to children and adults looking to learn the art of music. I also donate more than six hours of my time each week playing piano for my church.

Citizenship:

I strive to help and uplift others. I am very active in my school and around my community. I know almost all the faculty, students, and parents at my school by name. I give a warm smile and ask, “how was your day?”, to show them that someone cares about their well-being and mental health. I set the example in everything I do and do the right thing even when no one is watching.
