Fivay High School

Scholarship:

I am currently 3rd in my class with a 4.56 GPA and will graduate with an AA from PHSC with Honors this May. The Florida Scholastic Press Association awarded me “Best of the Best” for my work in journalism. I recently won 4th in the state for Advertising at Florida FBLA’s 2020 State Convention. I also hold the AP Scholar with Honor Award and was student of the year for Geometry Honors and journalism.

Leadership:

I am currently President of five clubs including Student Council, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, and Future Business Leaders of America. I am also Interact club secretary, a member of Phi Theta Kappa at PHSC, a Pasco Student Congress Representative, a Principal’s Advisory Council member, a Positive Coaching Alliance student-athlete, and the Varsity Cross Country Team Captain. On top of being my school’s chapter President, I serve as FL-FBLA District XI Historian.

Service:

All the clubs I’m in require minimal community service hours, such as toy and food drives through NHS, Christmas wrappings and Safety Town events through Interact, and assisting local schools with science fairs, reading, etc. However, I strive to go further. Two impactful services I do include nearly 100 hours as a Teen Court Volunteer--helping local teens get back on track through tutoring. I have spent hundreds of hours tutoring students sincemiddle school.

Citizenship:

Being the Senior Class President, I have a responsibility to advocate for my fellow students. I have advocated for longer passing times and the removal of bathroom pass limits this past year. On top of this, I was responsible for our school’s first mock election as Rho Kappa President, where students learned the importance of voting. I also advocate for drug, suicide, and violence prevention, and work hard to make our school feel more inclusive.
