San Antonio Elementary School has been recognized by Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International) as a Demonstration Center, an honor that means it can serve as a model for the prestigious program.

Demonstration Centers are qualified to host showcase events for teachers, school administrators, and district leaders from around the nation who are interested in learning about Cambridge International. A small number of schools are authorized as Demonstration Centers following a rigorous application process in which the schools must describe how they meet the criteria in five key areas, such as educational values, inclusive teaching and learning, and exemplary leadership and management.

“This is a huge honor for San Antonio Elementary School and for our entire school district,” said Kurt Browning, Pasco Superintendent of Schools. “This speaks volumes about the quality of our teachers and the leadership here. The opportunity this provides our students is incredible.”

The San Antonio Elementary School staff was joined by Superintendent Browning, Board Member Allen Altman, district staff, and parents this morning to celebrate the announcement that San Antonio Elementary had been honored as a Demonstration Center. In this video, school officials explain what the designation means for the school district, the school, and for students. Also we have attached two photos from today’s event.

Pasco Middle School also has been honored as a Demonstration Center.

Cambridge International is dedicated to helping schools deliver the best education possible by providing comprehensive support, including teacher professional development and training, classroom resources, and membership of a global learning community. More than 10,000 schools in over 160 countries offer the Cambridge Pathway program to their students.

“We are excited that San Antonio Elementary School is becoming one of the first Demonstration Centers in the United States, and look forward to showcasing the exemplary work of the school leaders, educators, and students,” said Mark Cavone, Regional Director for Cambridge International, North America. “San Antonio Elementary has a long history of successfully implementing the Cambridge Pathway, resulting in strong results for students.”
