USF's David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching is hosting the inaugural 5k for K-12 on the Tampa campus on March 26, 2022.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit PreK-12 education initiatives across the Tampa Bay area and offer free professional development to teachers and administrators so they don’t have to pay for recertification.

All 5k participants will receive a race tee and a finisher’s medal. (Running is not required!)

2021 Florida Teacher of the Year, Sarah Painter, will be the special guest. Mrs. Painter will distribute awards at the end of the race and will talk briefly about the importance of education and the teaching profession.

Schools are encouraged to create run/walk teams for faculty, staff, parents, students, admin, PTA, etc.
