AP Capstone Diploma project on the impact of enrichment on the adoptability of shelter dogs, which combined my interests in science and service.
President and Founder of Mentoring Mustangs, Sadie launched Mitchell’s first peer mentoring program in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, training upperclassmen mentors and matching them with younger students. She also serves as Vice President of Rho Kappa, Treasurer of National English Honor Society, and Parliamentarian for NHS, Secretary Board in Model UN, Co-founder and Vice President of the Animal Awareness club. Holds down 2 part time jobs.
Through Mentoring Mustangs, I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact of connection and guidance on younger students. As Vice President of the Animal Awareness Club, I helped collect supplies to help support the over 150 shelter animals and recruited volunteers to support local adoption efforts. My ongoing volunteer work with PC Animal Services, where I volunteer as a surgical recovery tech, has deepened my compassion and shaped my goal of pursuing a veterinary career.
