General Description

Professional Development Certification Program (PDCP), is formerly known as the Alternative Certification Program (ACP) for the Pasco County School District. PDCP is a rigorous 2-year program designed to develop quality teachers by offering professional education preparation via face to face and online learning, and mentor support to newly hired educators with subject area expertise. By choosing this program as a means of alternative certification, you are making a long-term investment in your career as an educator.

Required Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an area other than Education
  • Eligible for, or currently have, a valid Statement of Eligibility from the FLDOE
  • Current full-time teacher in a PreK-12 classroom
  • Interest in obtaining a Florida Professional teaching certificate
