Marchman Technical College is offering first 600-hour course in Early Childhood Education

Are you interested in joining the Early Childhood Education field? Marchman Technical College is offering its first ever 600-hour course in Early Childhood Education.

The Early Childhood Professional Certification (ECPC) Staff Credential can lead to possible careers in Early Childhood Education including: Lead Preschool Teachers, VPK Teachers, Before-Care/AfterCare Workers and Supervisors, Child Development Specialists, Directors/Owners, and Family Daycare Home Operators (may require additional training).

Marchman Technical College has partnered with the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, Inc. This partnership focuses on supporting individuals during their educational journey and beyond with approximately $525,000 from the Preschool Development Grant towards earning their Staff Credential.

This includes:

  • Tuition and fees $2,000 – cost covered by The Early Learning Coalition
  • Background check and DCF coursework fees covered by The Early Learning Coalition
  • 2 participation bonus payments
  • Complimentary advisor to guide students towards higher education

Program Description:

The Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Professional Certification (ECPC) is recognized by DCF, FLDOE, and PHELC as a high-quality training program for those interested in working with young children. During program, students learn the 6 CDA Competencies and 13 functional areas of: Health, Safety, Learning Environment, Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Creative, Self, Social, Guidance, Families, Program Management and Professionalism.

Curriculum meets and exceeds the National CDA. Upon completion of the 120 classroom instruction hours, 480 on-the- job training hours, professional portfolio, and coursework, students will be awarded the ECPC Staff Credential showing their proficiency to work as a lead teacher in a childcare setting.
