2023 Summer Hours for Year-Round Employees

In line with continuous energy conservation efforts, the District will once again be operating on a four-day work schedule for several weeks during the summer.

All District offices and schools will be closed on the following days:

June 2023: Friday, June 9, Friday, June 16, Friday, June 23, Friday, June 30

July 2023: Tuesday, July 4, Friday, July 14, Friday, July 21

Normal work hours resume Monday, July 24, 2023.

To meet the required contract workdays, July 4th will be a non-workday and 245-day employees will work extended hours Monday, July 3rd, and Wednesday, July 5th – Friday July 7th. As with other extended work hour weeks, employees may request to utilize a vacation day instead of working additional hours during this week.

In addition, Monday, September 4th will also be a non-workday and staff who work a 245-day calendar will work extended hours from Tuesday, September 5th through Friday, September 8th. As with other extended work hour weeks, employees may request to utilize a vacation day instead of working additional hours during this week.

Extended Hours During Four-Day Work Weeks: The general operating hours for the District Office Complex will be 7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday through Wednesday, and 7:30am – 5:00pm on Thursday. To best serve the public, departments must ensure adequate coverage during these hours. Specific employee work schedules may vary based upon worksite/program needs, and administrators may establish schedules that best suit the needs of their departments/schools.

Sample 37.5 Hour Employee Schedule Monday – Wednesday: 7:30am – 5:30pm, 30-minute lunch, two 20-minute breaks. Thursday: 7:30am – 5pm, 30-minute lunch, two 15-minute breaks.

Sample 40 Hour Employee Schedule Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 5:30pm, 30-minute lunch, two 20-minute breaks.

SRP employees shall be granted breaks, as indicated in the SRP Master Contract. Consistent with the purpose of conserving resources, employees are discouraged from entering buildings during the designated non-workdays.

Requests for Vacation in Lieu of Extended Hours: Employees may request approval to use one day of earned vacation leave per week, in lieu of working extended hours. Approval is subject to supervisor approval after consideration of multiple factors, including worksite needs and staff coverage. Please contact your supervisor with any questions.
