JOB GOAL

Responsible for coordinating site-based program activities. This includes integrating each program’s theme into curricula as assigned, exploring partnerships to enhance educational offerings, and marketing the program to potential families and the community. Programs may include STEAM, STEM, Cambridge International, International Baccalaureate, technical high schools, and other similar programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Organize and participate in the recruitment of students through advertising, school visits, and interaction with parents and the community.
  2. Organize and facilitate any assessments required for the program theme at assigned schools.
  3. Collaborate with the administrative team to create and oversee the budget for the school.
  4. Build instructional capacity through coaching competencies with teachers and support personnel as they implement the program theme in their classrooms.
  5. Promote strategies that enhance the teaching, learning, and engagement of students while integrating the program theme guidelines across all content areas.
  6. Utilize Professional Learning Community (PLC) structures to support teachers with planning the learning experiences that integrate the program theme and meet programmatic requirements.
  7. Provide ongoing, job-embedded professional development for school personnel that is in line with the program objectives.
  8. Communicate with parents and teachers to provide detailed documentation of interventions and student progress.
  9. Communicate with and support teachers by creating an environment that fosters the program theme and promotes high-impact instruction where learning can occur.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form with all stakeholders
  • Ability to employee effective coaching and facilitation skills to plan for and respond to student learning across content areas
  • Knowledge of current research on best practices for improving student achievement
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner
  • Ability to work effectively across school-based, regional, and district support teams
  • Knowledge and understanding of the magnet or program theme at the school

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Previous classroom teaching experience
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida’s Educator’s Certificate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience teaching and/or leading in a magnet school or program
  • Leadership or coaching experience
  • Experience facilitating Professional Learning Community (PLC) structures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
