JOB GOAL

Responsible for the coordination, supervision, and management of the total operation of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Design, coordinate, and facilitate academic enrichment activities for the 21st CCLC programs, including conducting academic and personal enrichment activities with students; planning and production of activities, lessons and other resources for site staff; providing homework assistance and targeted tutoring for individual students; and other related activities.
  2. Collaborate with classroom teachers and other personnel for the purpose of developing and planning appropriate instruction and enrichment activities to meet grant goals for enrolled students.
  3. Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff within district guidelines.
  4. Prepare, maintain, and evaluate records of student and program data for compliance with grant objectives.
  5. Maintain center compliance with federal, state, local licensing standards, grant requirements, and School Board policies and procedures.
  6. Supervise and guide children.
  7. Work effectively with the grant administrator to coordinate all grant related activities.
  8. Promote awareness of available media and technology appropriate to planning student educational activities based on 21st CCLC grant goals.
  9. Establish and maintain a safe environment for children.
  10. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, district office staff, children, and the school.
  11. Maintain expenditures within the center budget.
  12. Select equipment, instructional materials, toys, books, and appropriate supplementary supplies.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience modeling appropriate strategies for curriculum instruction and assessment and interactions with students and staff
  • Knowledge of child development, care, and best practices in K-12 enrichment programs
  • Ability to provide appropriate guidance, resources and coaching to all stakeholders
  • Ability to facilitate effective teamwork by building collaborative and productive relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes
  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word process, spreadsheets, and databases
  • All hires must meet physical requirements of Post Offer Employment Testing (POET)

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Care, Education, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Three years’ experience working with students in K-12 enrichment programs
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid and current American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) course or agreement to complete within 30 days of hire.  Must maintain certification by American Red Cross in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED as a condition of continued employment.
  • Valid and current Florida Educator’s Certificate or Statement of Eligibility from Florida Department of Education (FLDOE)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Care, Child Development, Education, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Four years’ experience of administrative experience with K-12 enrichment programs consisting of providing staff direction, task assignment, client interfacing, district personnel interfacing and managing all business aspects of enrichment programs
  • Three years’ experience in a supervisory position managing multiple sites, staff, coaching and training

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Direct supervision of assigned personnel.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; training employees; evaluating performance; and interviewing, testing, hiring and assignment of personnel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as light work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, and hear; stand and walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

General office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
