JOB GOAL

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive school-based student assessment and progress monitoring program. This includes assisting all stakeholders in the use of data as evidence of student progress and to monitor the School Success Plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of those in this position.
  1. Assist with planning, organizing and coordinating activities related to the District’s fee supported child care enrichment programs.
  2. Assist with scheduling of site-based relief staff.
  3. Collaborate with district staff and school administrators to establish and maintain quality programming.
  4. Collect, analyze and interpret related data to improve the delivery of services.
  5. Assist in updating the child care policies and procedures manual and related forms.
  6. Assist in evaluating and analyzing program operations to ensure efficient use of resources while meeting the needs of program stakeholders.
  7. Conduct and facilitate problem solving at meetings, including parent conferences, with individuals and groups within the child care community.
  8. Assist with the development of policies and procedures that provide technical assistance to ensure implementation and compliance with federal, state and local rules, regulations, and statutes that apply to school age child care.
  9. Respond quickly to emergency situations and serve as a district representative at emergency shelters as determined by the Superintendent.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and quality standards related to the care of school age children
  •  Knowledge of and ability to understand and interpret applicable policies, state statutes, and federal laws and guidelines, including Florida Statutes, School Board policy, and union agreements
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus
  • Ability to analyze data and use data driven decision making to facilitate effective programs
  • Ability to implement quality standards in child care enrichment programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Elementary Education or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience in school age child care, elementary education or a related field.
  • OR
  •  Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Elementary Education or related field from an accredited institution
  • Experience in project management and implementation
  • Experience in a supervisory role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as light work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk and hear; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established by the District.

Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
