Welcome to Anclote High School

Sunlake High School

Anclote High School is located on the border of Pasco and Pinellas Counties in Holiday, Florida. Holiday is bordered on the south by the city of Tarpon Springs, on the west the Gulf of Mexico, on the north SR 54, and on the east the Anclote River. Anclote High School has been named after its proximity to the Anclote River and Park.

Anclote High School will open with 9th though 11th grade, with 12th grade added in 2010. The Anclote High School student body will be comprised of rising 8th grade students from Paul R. Smith Middle School and a portion of 8th grade students from Gulf Middle School. In addition, students from areas of Gulf High School and Mitchell High School will attend Anclote High School.

The colors chosen for Anclote High School are royal blue, silver and white. Anclote High School is scheduled to open in August of 2009.

Anclote High School is a Professional Learning Community School:

Anclote High School's building is designed to foster Professional Learning Communities within the school environment, "small schools within the school". This concept provides for smaller grouping of students and teachers in building areas which provides for better relationships, higher academic achievement and creates a quality school environment. These professional communities will be:

Arts and Communication,
Engineering and Sciences,
Health and Human Services,
and Business and Technology.

Each student and staff will choose a professional collaborative learning community focusing on student success. Anclote High School will value learning, volunteering, recycling and student leadership for our students.

Course Offerings at Anclote High School

Anclote High School will open with a wide array of elective options for students. All courses offered are contingent on student enrollment in the courses.

Anclote will have a Energy Academy. This career academy is supported by a partnership with Progress Energy and TECO. This academy will lead to industry certification for entry positions within the energy industries. The courses for this academy are Energy Leadership.
