The Tools Program is an educational intervention for students who are involved in disciplinary action due to substance use or possession. This program is not substance abuse treatment. The purpose is to provide effective prevention education while helping students remain academically engaged by reducing out-of-school suspension. Any alcohol/drug possession or alcohol/drug use (excluding sales or distribution) will result in referral to the Tools program and 5 days OSS. If the student does not successfully complete the program, they will serve an additional 5 days of OSS. Students found to have been selling or distributing drugs or alcohol are not eligible for the program. Students involved in repeated substance possession/abuse infractions may access the Tools Program on multiple occasions in accordance with the Discipline Matrix.
