Tobacco Free Florida Week

While Tobacco Free Florida’s (TFF) primary goal is to help tobacco users end their addiction to nicotine, another important goal is to limit Floridians’ exposure to secondhand smoke (SHS). Focusing on educating Floridians about the dangers of SHS positions TFF as an organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the entire state – not just tobacco users.

Facts about tobacco use:

      • Secondhand smoke causes nearly 34,000 premature deaths from heart disease among non-smokers each year.
      • Exposure to secondhand smoke can cause asthma in children who have not previously shown asthma symptoms.
      • Secondhand smoke exposure from parental smoking increases the risk of lower respiratory illnesses.

Call to Action:

      • Floridians: Click here to Learn more about SHS to protect your health.
      • Tobacco Users: Quit smoking to improve not only your health, but that of your loved ones.
