Vending Programs

The School Board approved this summer a five year Exclusive Beverage Contract with Coca-Cola Enterprises.  Food and Nutrition Services and the Wellness Council worked with Coca-Cola Enterprises, principals, athletic directors, and District departments to make positive gains toward following the District’s Wellness Policy.

Coca-cola will be operating the full service vending machines, with Pasco County’s Distribution Services stocking and delivering the Coca-Cola products for Food and Nutrition Services, principals, boosters, and clubs/organizations.  All groups, clubs and organizations are expected to follow the contract and purchase/serve ONLY Coca-Cola products on school campuses.

Coca-cola is currently surveying each school to determine potential vending machine locations, with each school’s principal making the final decision on vending machine placements.  Most schools will have less vending machines than in prior years because the Coke vending machines hold more product.

The types of products eligible to be sold in vending machines to students is now governed by the Alliance For a Healthier Generation’s Beverage Guidelines.  All non-vended Coca-Cola products available to students, adults and booster/clubs will be stocked in the warehouse and must be ordered using the District’s ordering system.  Food and Nutrition Services managers are responsible for ordering all products for the cafeterias, concession stands, fundraisers, and catering.  Student products sold in the cafeteria are limited to products that meet our snack policy guidelines.  Concession stands can sell a variety of products from an approved list, subject to the principal’s approval.  Order requests must be provided to Food and Nutrition Services managers two weeks prior to a scheduled event.

Boosters, clubs and organizations that need Coca-Cola products prior to August 30, 2009 will need to fax their request (include contact phone number, name of organization and specific product requested) to Food and Nutrition Services at (813) 794-2118; (727) 774-2118; or (352) 524-2118.  Products needed prior to August 19th will be delivered to the school’s plant manager area for pick-up (after August 19th, products will be delivered to the cafeteria).  Boosters and clubs/organizations will be invoiced at time of delivery; payment is expected within ten days.
