Land O’ Lakes, FL – (November 12, 2019) – Samantha Del Valle was named Pasco County Schools District Administrator of the Year this morning.

Del Valle received the surprise news, along with flowers and a cookie cake, from Superintendent Kurt Browning and Pasco Education Foundation Executive Director Stacey Capogrosso while her husband Brian and co-workers looked on.

Mrs. Del Valle serves as assistant director of the Office for Leading and Learning. She began her career in Pasco Schools as a social studies teacher at Land O’ Lakes High School in 2009 and was promoted to assistant principal at Pasco High School in 2013, where she initiated and built the Cambridge Education Programme. Her work with that program propelled her to a senior supervisor position at the district overseeing enriched, innovative programs in 2016. Under her supervision, the district’s Cambridge Education Programme has grown to five schools with three more in the planning stage, and Pasco County Schools earned the 2018 United States district of the year award from Cambridge Assessment International. Samantha’s impactful leadership over these programs resulted in a promotion to assistant director, and she is now charged with leading the enriched and innovative programs as well magnet programs, advanced and accelerated course work, and her efforts have brought forward a strong focus on equitable practices and procedures here in Pasco.

“Samantha always responds whenever assistance is needed and is extremely knowledgeable about all things SPP (Student Progression Plan), Cambridge and other things…She is willing to come to schools to assist teachers in Cambridge and works to make sure the program has what is needed to be successful. Sam is a great leader…, wonderful boss and great administrative leader…Sam is a true servant leader with an incredible work ethic and dedication to the teams she serves. She exemplifies quality in every way possible…She works tirelessly to support all schools in our district,” reads her nomination.

Mrs. Del Valle earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Masters in Social Science Education (Secondary) from the University of Kentucky.
