Welcome to Instructional Media and Technology!
The mission of the Instructional Media and Technology program is to promote literacy and to actively support the teaching and learning process. As the amount of information increases exponentially, it is imperative that students have the skills necessary to effectively access, evaluate, synthesize, and communicate information in a manner that is compelling and meaningful. Students must have numerous opportunities and experiences with a variety of technologies and resources to acquire the skills that are necessary for success in the digital world of the 21st century. Media and Technology Specialists collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure that all students have those opportunities. Media/Technology programs also ensure that students have access to literature from all cultures in a variety of formats and provide reading promotions and special activities to encourage a love of reading in all of our students.
