Dual Enrollment
Updated for the 2011/2012 School Year
Eligible Students: Students enrolled in District School Board of Pasco County High Schools taking Dual Enrollment Courses on a Pasco-Hernando Community College (PHCC) Campus.
Procedures:
1. Take the PHCC Fee Statement form or other evidence of registration at PHCC to any of the Dual Enrollment Textbook Sites.
2. The Textbook Coordinator will check to see if the needed textbooks for the registered courses are in the inventory. If they are, the student will be issued the needed textbooks. If the textbooks are not available, the student will be issued a Pasco Dual Enrollment Textbook Depository Approval Form and referred to PHCC to get their materials (see steps 3 and 4 below). Students will be asked to complete the following information on a Pasco Dual Enrollment Textbook Depository Approval Form: Name, Address, Home Phone number, Social Security number, E-mail Address (if applicable) and high school. The student will then receive the top two copies of the completed Pasco Dual Enrollment Textbook Depository Approval Form, which will list courses for which textbooks have been provided by the Pasco Depository and the courses for which textbooks will be needed from PHCC.
3. The student will take the top two copies of the Pasco Dual Enrollment Textbook Depository Approval Form to PHCC Financial Aid (See Financial Aid location information below). They will receive a PHCC Book and Supply Authorization/Receipt Form, which will specify the maximum amount of purchases that can be made at the PHCC Book Store for the authorized textbooks. Please note that the PHCC staff is authorized to give the PHCC Book and Supply Authorization/Receipt Form directly to the students only and is not permitted to give it to parents without the student being present.
4. The student will take the PHCC Book and Supply Authorization/Receipt Form to the PHCC Book Store and present it to the cashier when purchasing required textbooks. No cash is necessary. Retain the receipt for verification that the textbooks were received. The District School Board of Pasco County will be billed for the total amount of the purchase.
5. If students choose to drop a course, they are to return the textbooks to the PHCC Book Store along with the receipt before the drop/add date. If there is a possibility of dropping the course, students are encouraged to keep textbooks in the shrink-wrap covering.
6. At the end of the semester, return all textbooks to one of the Dual Enrollment Textbook Depository sites. The Dual Enrollment Textbook Depository Coordinator will examine the textbooks and determine their condition. If any one of the textbook materials is damaged or lost, the student will be charged a textbook fine. Since textbook bundles often contain several separate materials and are not sold separately, students may be charged for the total cost of the textbook bundle if any one piece is missing. Students will not be permitted to check out additional Dual Enrollment textbooks until all textbooks have been returned and fees paid.
NOTICE: Do NOT write on any of the textbook materials, as they will be reissued to other Dual Enrollment Pasco students in the future. If you write on or damage any material, you must pay a textbook fine.
