    4.  Reduces sick leave utilization…
    5.  Increases employee effectiveness and productivity…

Who is eligible for counseling?
All School Board employees and retirees are eligible for EAP services.  Employees may be full or part time, active or on leave.  Counseling sessions available through the EAP may be used by the employee or by the employee’s spouse or dependent(s).

How many FREE counseling sessions are provided?
Up to five (5) counseling sessions are available each year at no cost.  Additional services may be authorized for crisis situations.  Employees enrolled in the District’s group medical plan needing longer-term solutions for more serious behavioral health or substance abuse issues, can seamlessly transition to the services provided by Aetna/Horizon Health (login:  pascoschools; password:  worklife), the District’s behavioral health substance abuse provider.

Where are counseling services provided?
Counseling services are available in private offices in Land O’ Lakes, Lutz, Bayonet Point/Hudson, Dade City, New Port Richey, Wesley Chapel, Spring Hill, Tarpon Springs and Zephyrhills.  All locations are totally separate from school campuses.  Initial appointments are scheduled through the Land O’ Lakes office.  Print EAP Provider list.

When are services provided?
Appointments normally will be scheduled between 8:30 a.m and 5:30 p.m., but special or emergency appointments may be arranged at any time.  Several of the counselors schedule some evening appointments.

What training or credentials do counselors have?
All counselors are licensed through the Department of Health. Program counselors include licensed psychologists, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors and clinical social workers.

Two of our providers are Supreme Court Certified Family Mediators.  Mediation, an alternative to formal court divorce/custody proceedings, allows couples to negotiate and resolve disputes with an emphasis on cooperation.  By accessing these services through your Employee Assistance Program, some of the cost of mediation can be deferred. Contact the EAP office for further information.

A Message from Mary Tillman

The staff in EBARM wants all employees to be healthy, in mind and body, so they can be ready everyday to do their best for our children. Remember as you access health services that the District is self-insured for all medical, pharmacy and mental health services. Therefore, spend wisely, whenever you can use generics, see a primary care doctor instead of a specialist.

Also, take care of yourself, lose weight if you need to, stop smoking, take your medications as prescribed, and get some exercise. This is all good for your mind, body and wallet.
