Land O’ Lakes, FL – (May 24, 2017) – Alfred Smith was drafted out of high-school to serve in World War II, and never completed high school.  Recently, his grandson, Robert Pullen, Esq., USAF, Ret., worked with the Florida Department of Education to see that his “Pepa” was awarded a high school diploma.

Mr. Pullen’s grandmother, Ruth Smith, will accept Alfred Smith’s diploma from Superintendent Kurt Browning during the Pasco High School graduation ceremony on Friday, May 26, at 7:30 p.m., in the school’s football stadium.

Approximately 10 of Mr. Smith’s family members will attend the ceremony and will sit in a reserved area on the field.  After traditional speeches, Superintendent Browning will present the diploma to Mrs. Smith before the class of 2017 receive their diplomas (at approximately 8:30 p.m.).

Mr. Smith was a private in the Army in Germany during WWII. He earned the Bronze Star for his service.
