Pasco Schools to Join National Environmental Campaign

Who: Pasco County Schools officials, Gulf Trace Elementary School students and staff, local and state officials, Keep Pasco Beautiful, Walmart, Trex

What: A Bag’s Life Kickoff

When: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 31

Where: Gulf Trace Elementary School, 3303 Gulf Trace Blvd. in Holiday

Why: The district and its partners will celebrate the commencement of A Bag’s Life, a national educational campaign that unites nonprofits, businesses, communities and government organizations to promote the importance of the three R’s — reduce, reuse and recycle — for plastic bags and wraps.

How: Join Pasco County Schools and Gulf Trace Elementary School as we usher in this exciting campaign, in which students from 23 district schools will learn about environmental stewardship and compete for prizes based on their recycling efforts. Superintendent Kurt Browning, Gulf Trace Elementary School Principal Hope Schooler, and representatives from Pasco Schools Conservation and Recycling Operations, Walmart, and Keep Pasco Beautiful will speak on behalf of the campaign and how it will benefit our students and community.
