Pasco County Schools Honors Our Veterans

Land O’ Lakes, FL – (November 3, 2017) – This Veterans Day, Pasco County Schools is hosting its 4th annual district wide Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 10, from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge. The Center for the Arts at River Ridge is located at 11646 Town Center Road, in New Port Richey.

Students will perform the pledge of allegiance, national anthem, patriotic songs, and flag demonstrations. Rick D’Onofrio, Center for the Arts at River Ridge managing director, will be the event’s emcee and Representative Danny Burgess will serve as keynote speaker. Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley will join Superintendent Kurt Browning and district students and staff to honor and celebrate veterans and to encourage students to participate in the Vote in Honor of a Veteran program.

“It is important for our students and employees to honor the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces,” said Superintendent Browning. “This hallmark, annual event fosters civic engagement and serves as a teachable moment about military service and sacrifice.” 

Supervisor of Elections Outreach Ambassadors also will conduct their annual voter registration drive, “Vote In Honor of a Veteran,” at all high schools once the Veterans Day Ceremony concludes. For more information, contact Tina Stavrou-Klem at 813-794-2247.
