Pasco County Schools Employees, Buses to Head to the Panhandle
Land O’ Lakes, FL – (October 31, 2018) – Pasco County Schools is giving 20 buses and lending 20 maintenance employees to Bay District Schools to help them recover from Hurricane Michael.
On Thursday, November 1, school bus drivers from the Bay County school district will travel to New Port Richey to retrieve the buses and drive them back to their district. When they arrive at Fred K. Marchman Technical College at approximately 11:30 a.m., the school’s culinary students will serve them lunch. Following lunch, they will be escorted to the bus barn at Pinehill Road and Congress Street to pick up the buses to drive back to Bay County.
On Saturday, November 3, laborers and experts in site development, tree trimming/heavy equipment, electricity, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanics will depart for a week of helping prepare Bay County schools for students to return on November 12. The crew will depart at 6:30 a.m. from the Maintenance Department, 11835 Tree Breeze Dr, New Port Richey, FL 34654.
“I can’t imagine what our colleagues are going through in the Panhandle, and we just wanted to give them the same kind of support I know they would give to us if we were in the same situation,” said Superintendent Kurt Browning.
