Gulf High Performs Random Acts of Kindness
Who: Gulf High School students and staff
What: Random Acts of Kindness Day
When: 7:30 a.m. to 1:40 p.m., Thursday, March 16
Where: Gulf High School, 5355 School Road in New Port Richey
Why: Gulf High will host a Random Acts of Kindness Day in support of “The Eli Effect.”
How: “The Eli Effect” was started by Jon and Shannon Ackerman to celebrate the life of their second born child, Eli. Jon and Shannon Ackerman have one child named Callie, but lost Eli and third-born child, Joey, shortly after their birth. Eli’s first birthday would have been March 16, 2017, and it is the date that Gulf High will hold its Random Acts of Kindness Day. In celebration of the day, students are creating and distributing promotional materials throughout the school, and demonstrating acts of kindness on the school news YouTube channel. In addition, students are painting inspirational messages on small rocks, which will be displayed near neighboring elementary schools. Gulf High encourages everyone to perform at least one random act of kindness on March 16. For more information, contact Gulf High School at (727) 774-3300.
